Gratitude is the Attitude

We are all centred so much around our lives that we forget that there is so much happening in the outside world beyond our imaginations. For us, our life is what is within our centre of perception. We give so much importance to the events that happen in our life, not for a moment, envisaging that there is a bigger life out there happening every second. Sometimes this wraps us in a state of solitariness. When things go our way, this gives us a jolt of adrenaline and when the situation is troublesome, we get a shot of cortisol in our system. Be it happy or sad, the fact is our emotions run riot every day. It’s not just a chemical symphony but the entire system goes for a spin every day. At the end of the day, some of us are satisfied and some go to bed unfulfilled, awaiting a morrow that may bring some solace.

We attach so much importance to this melodrama that we forget to smell the roses in the way. Somebody has rightly said, ‘Life is flowering around you. Where are you?’. This phenomenon called life is happening in every ‘now’ and we are simply not tuned in. Our thoughts and emotions seem to be out of control. There is a thought behind every emotion and vice versa. Besides these, the thought-emotion conundrum gives rise to an aura surrounding us. This is called the energy body. Now, when our thoughts and emotions are aligned properly, this leads to good vibrations or positive energy. Although we cannot see the energy aura, we feel it. Have you seen some people, no matter what, always radiate a peace and calmful disposition? Such people so not place so much importance to the thought – emotion roller coaster.

All we need to become like that is simple. So here are the steps:

  1. When you wake up try to remember the dream. There may be some pointers.
  2. Do not check your mobile phones/computers for the first half an hour.
  3. Have a routine for Exercise (as little as 10 minutes).
  4. Do little bit of meditation (as little as 5-8 minutes).
  5. Take a cold shower.
  6. Visualize the day ahead.
  7. A To-Do list like Wunderlist can prove to be helpful
  8. Have a sumptuous breakfast / tea-coffee
  9. Now go, seize the day

If we let our habits run our life, better make sure that these habits are positive. Just look back upon a day and see where you are going wrong. Change your habits if they prove to be obstructionist in nature. Live life in awareness.

By that I mean, pay full attention to the task at hand. Don’t try to do more than one thing at a time. Multi-tasking can rob away your power to concentrate. Are you aware of a little voice in the head that is your critic? Silence this voice. Remember, imagination always wins over will-power. So, only saw seeds that have a positive effect. Maybe you don’t like some work that you do. Tell your brain that still you love this work, repeatedly. Your brain doesn’t know the difference between good and bad. It simply does, whatever you tell it to do. So, strike a fruitful conversation with your brain. Work done without effort is simply the best work. Follow your passion. Do what you love. Align your thought – emotion – energy. Do not view a problem in its entirety. Break it down into smaller steps. And get going. One deed at a time. Soon, you will realize the this very ‘Life’ is the greatest gift that has been given to us. So, don’t forget to pray and say thanks.

God Bless !
