If You Are Not Doing What You Love, You Are Wasting Your Time

Ask yourself – are you spending your time on what you love, are just whiling it away? We all get 24 hours in a day, but why is it that some people make it, and some don’t. If there is one thing that distinguishes these two types of people – in one sentence – they have found their inner calling. You see each one of us is cut out to be somebody special. The earlier we find it out, the more enjoyable the ride is going to be. Half of life is over, once we find out what we ought to be. The rest is to walk the path. Whatever it may be you are aspiring to be – maybe a painter, a musician, or a world leader. The sooner you awake to this calling the better it is. And then start planning and executing this dream of yours. One day you will reach the pinnacle of success, however, you may define it. And then the goal post shifts further. Till you find that there is no end. Most of the movies end on a ‘they lived happily ever after’ theme. But that is just the beginning.

Life is tough. It’ll grind you if you just sit there. You must keep moving. From one stint to the next. Till you get what you want. Whatever it may be. Have you seen the movie ‘The pursuit of happiness?’. Well, happiness should be guaranteed by the constitution, you may say. Let me tell you this – happiness is not any external stimulus. It’s something within you. Inside not outside. You can take life as it comes at you and decide to accept it or despise it. Any which ways know that time is passing. It won’t wait for you. So, till the time that your dreams don’t come true, persevere. Hustle, while you wait. Don’t let bitter experiences make you a bitter person. Negativity is already a ton in the world (If you have any doubts, look at the news). Don’t add to it. Smile. I know it’s difficult when you are on tenterhooks. You got to keep on keeping on. Bad times are seasonal. They don’t last forever. Trust in God that ‘It came to pass …’.

Remember, we need to rear our children with the right attitude. We need to spot their uniqueness and encourage them to discover. Well, we may be wrong for all we know. But all that we can expect out of our children is that they become good human beings. None of our hard lessons should eclipse their future. If we have learned the lesson, maybe we can pass down the wisdom to them. And the best part is not to keep any expectations. They are God’s children, just like we are. Trust in God, that they will find their way in the maze of life. Values are an integral component of our personality and our children should be taught that – in schools, in our houses, in our playgrounds, or just about anywhere. Sometimes we pass our negativity to our children and that can be lethal. If there is one thing that we should share with our children, it would be this – the privilege of being a human – The gift of being human.

Love, Peace, Equanimity, etc. are all good values. But sometimes when we are caught in the clutches of a difficult moment, it may be difficult to practice. And that is Okay. However, Love or Peace is not something we do, it’s who we are. You don’t love, you become lovely. You don’t bring peace to the world, you become peaceful. Easier said than done. However, it is possible. You see many people living this way. They also had their struggles and stories. However, instead of choosing to complain, they decided to do something about it. It is very difficult to change the world, change yourself. That’s much easier. You can decide to give it all up and become a recluse. Know that to be the easier option. Like an Ostrich which covers its face in the sand. Be like an Eagle. When it rains, fly above the clouds. You will soon find that an umbrella is just an excuse in rains. Get wet or fly in the heavens above the clouds. Some people will definitely look up at you and say ‘Yeah! There goes an Angel’. So, cut out that crap and get to work. See ya there …

God Bless!
