Mundaka Upanishad – The soul chooses

Mundaka Upanishad – The soul chooses

“This soul can not be attained by instruction

nor by intellect nor by much learning.

It can be attained only by the one whom it chooses.

To such a one this soul reveals its own nature.

“This soul can not be attained by one lacking strength

nor by carelessness nor by misdirected discipline;

but the one striving by these means who knows,

this soul enters into the home of God.

“Attaining this, the seers, happy with the knowledge,

souls perfected, free from emotion, tranquil,

attaining the one who is universally omnipresent,

those wise, united souls enter into the all itself.

(Mundaka Upanishad)

—————————————————————–

You may be a king, an emperor, a wise person cognizant of all scriptures. You may be a devout, a saatvic, a performer of all yagyas. You may be a superstar, a guru, a Kubera who has amassed a lot of wealth. Still, the one can only be attained by whom it chooses to reveal its nature. If you have been chosen, you will receive atma-gyan (the knowledge and the experience of the ultimate reality that we call by various names.)

And once you have tasted the eternal, every other experience will seem passe. Remember, the soul never reveals itself to a person who lacks strength, or is careless or is a victim of his thoughts and emotions. Serenity is an essential attribute and so is striving. And once the universal omnipresent chooses you, then you will’ve tasted the pinnacle of the supreme truth. Nothing can compare to this.

This is moksha. The highest purpose of all creations. Leave behind samsara and reach the highest abode of the Supreme God. Dwelling in it forever. Beyond forms and names. Beyond time and space. Beyond dualistic perceptions. Beyond karma. Beyond silence. Birthless. Deathless. One with the whole, where the knower, the known, and the knowing merge together in the bosom of the Supreme.

And that will be the return to yourself – the return to innocence.

God Bless!
